ਪਿਛਲੇ ਕੁਝ ਦਿਨਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖ
ਮੰਤਰੀ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ਼ਾਂ ਵਾਰੇ ਆਖ਼ੇ ਕੁਝ ਬੇਹੱਦ ਘਟੀਆ ਸ਼ਬਦਾਂ
(ਸਿੱਖ਼ਾਂ ਦੇ ਬਾਰਾਂ ਬੱਜਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਗੱਲ) ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖ਼ ਜਗਤ ਵਿਚ ਕਾਫ਼ੀ ਹਫ਼ੜਾ
ਦਫ਼ੜੀ, ਬੇਚੈਨੀ ਤੇ ਰੰਜਸ਼ ਫ਼ੈਲਾ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਵਾਰੇ ਸਿੱਖ਼ਾਂ ਵਲ੍ਹੋਂ
ਵਾਵੇਲਾ ਮਚਾੳਣਾ ਜਾਇਜ਼ ਵੀ ਹੈ । ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਸਗੌਂ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ
ਕਿ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਵਾਰੇ ਸਾਰੀਆਂ ਹੀ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇਤਰਾਜ਼ ਕਰਨਾਂ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਸੀ। ਪਰ
ਜਿਸ ਦੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਪ੍ਰਕਾਸ਼ ਸਿੰਘ ਬਾਦਲ ਵਰਗਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਨਾਂ ਉਤੇ ਵੀ ਜੂੰ ਨਾ
ਸਰਕੀ ਹੋਵੇ, ਉਸ ਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਬਾਕੀ ਲੀਡਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਭਲਾ ਕੀ ਤਵੱਕੌਂ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਾ
ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ?
ਯਾਦ ਰਹੇ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਉਤੇ ਦੋ ਵਰ੍ਹੇ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਦੋਸ਼ ਲੱਗਾ ਸੀ ਕਿ ਉਸ ਨੇ
ਬਤੌਰ ਮੁੱਖ਼ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਗੋਧਰਾ ਕਾਂਡ ਵੇਲੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਫ਼ਿਰਕਾਪ੍ਰਸਤਾਂ ਤੋਂ
ਮੁਸਲਮਾਂਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਸ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਜਿਸ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਟੇ ਵਜੌਂ
ਸੈਂਕੜੇ ਹੀ ਨਿਰਦੋਸ਼ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਕਤਲ ਕਰ ਦਿਤੇ ਗਏ ਸਨ । ਇਹੋ ਹਾਲ ਬਾਬਰੀ
ਮਸਜਦ ਦੀ ਢਹਿ ਢੁਆਈ ਪਿੱਛੋਂ ਵੀ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ । ਬੰਬਈ ਦੇ ਦੰਗਿਆਂ ਵਾਰੇ ਤਾਂ
ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਪਤਾ ਹੀ ਹੈ । ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ 1984 ਵਿਚ ਸਿਖ਼-ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਦੰਗਿਆਂ ਪਿੱਛੇ
ਹਿੰਦੂ ਕੱਟੜਪੰਥੀਆਂ ਵਾਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਪ੍ਰਸ਼ਨ ਚਿੰਨ੍ਹ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਮੇਰਾ ਯਕੀਨ
ਹੈ ਕਿ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਵੀ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਅਨਸਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਕੁਝ ਨਾ ਕੁਝ ਹ੍ਹੱਥ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ
ਸੀ । ਕੱਟੜਪੰਥੀ ਦੰਗਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਗੁੰਡੇ ਤੇ ਬਦਮਾਸ਼ ਲੋਕ ਅਕਸਰ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਮਲ ਹੋ
ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ ।
ਭਾਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਇਸ ਗੱਲ ਦਾ ਫ਼ੈਸਲਾ ਛੇਤੀ ਹੀ ਕਰਨਾ ਪੈਣਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੇਸ ਵਿਚ ਵਧ
ਰਿਹਾ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਕੱਟੜਵਾਦ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਰੋਕਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਇਹ ਕੱਟੜਵਾਦ ਉਸੇ ਕਿਸਮ
ਦਾ ਹੈ ਜਿਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਐਹਨਾਂ ਦੇਸਾਂ ਵਿਚ
ਬ੍ਰਿਟਿਸ਼ ਨੈਸ਼ਨਲ ਪਾਰਟੀ ਜਾਂ
ਨੇਸ਼ਨਲ ਫ਼ਰੰਟ ਜਾਂ ਕੂ ਕਲੱਕਸ
ਕਲੈਨ ਦਾ ਨਸਲਵਾਦ ਹੈ । ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚਲਾ ਹਿੰਦੂਤਵ ਬਜਰੰਗ ਦਲ,
ਸ਼ਿਵ ਸੈਨਾਂ, ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਪ੍ਰੀਸ਼ਦ ਆਦਿ ਵਰਗੀਆਂ ਪਾਰਟੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸ਼ਕਲ ਵਿਚ
ਵਿਚਰ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਲੋਕ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਸੈਕੂਲਰ ਸੋਚ ਦੀਆਂ ਧੱਜੀਆਂ
ਉਡਾ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ । ਮੈਂ ਆਪਣੇ ਰੇਡੀਓ ਪਰੋਗਰਾਮ ਵਿਚ ਦੋ ਘੰਟੇ ਦਾ ਡਿਸਕਸ਼ਨ
ਪਰੋਗਾਮ ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ ਦੇ ਕਹੇ ਲਫ਼ਜ਼ਾਂ ਵਾਰੇ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ । ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ
ਕਾਲਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਬੇਸ਼ੱਕ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਇਕ ਸਿੱਖ
ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹਨ ਪਰ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿਚ ਘੱਟ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਕੌਮਾਂ ਦੀ ਸੁਰੱਖ਼ਿਅਤਾ ਬਹੁਤੀ ਦੇਰ
ਨਹੀਂ ਰਹਿ ਸਕਦੀ । ਕਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਵੱਖ਼ਵਾਦ ਦੀ ਵੀ ਗੱਲ ਕੀਤੀ । ਮੈਂ ਆਪ ਤੋਂ
ਪੁੱਛਣਾ ਚਾਹੁੰਦਾ ਹਾਂ ਕਿ ਕੀ ਭਾਰਤ ਦਾ ਸੈਕੁਲਰ ਢਾਂਚਾ ਸੁਰੱਖ਼ਿਅਤ ਹੈ? ਅਗਰ
ਸੁਰੱਖ਼ਿਅਤ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਇਸ ਨੂੰ ਸੁਰੱਖ਼ਿਅਤ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ? ਕੀ
ਲਿੱਖੋਗੇ?

Dear Sathi jee,
I am sorry for taking opposite role regarding
your title. These words are said to be by Narinder Modi. Narinder
Modi is a chief minister of Gujrat. He is controversial person for
his role in Gujrat Killing.He denied this. Media is always behind
him. Where did he say such words. Why not anybody produced any
documentary evidence. This is a emotional blackmail by anti BJP
parties. I am turban wearing man having faith in teachings of Guru
Sahiabaan. I have done university degrees alongwith Hindus. No Hindu
ever made such comments regarding Sikhs(at least in front of me) but
I listened this types of words from the mouth of many foolish Sikh
looking persons. They consider such a serious matter, a joke. I
agree with Mr. Jalota, there is strong need of education to Indian
community regarding the role of Sikh Gurus.
There is another letter from Sukhdev Singh
Engineer. He targeted Langer. Langer is prepared by Sangat. There is
no compulsion of using Ghee or other matter. Any body can prepare
Langar of His/her choice. If Mr. Sukhdev Singh has any grudge, he
should approach Committees and give some suggestions. Only
restriction is vegetarian ie.also to bring everyone under one roof
because many people run away after hearing that non-veg is being
served. Guru ka Langar is great institution and deserves great
respect. In the 500 years of proud Sikh history, million have/had
been fed by this institution. In western countries, Guruduras
normally open on weekends and most of sangat goes only once a week.
Eating Cholestrol just for one day in Langar, do not increase their
level. Lack of excercise, too much eating, sleeping immidately after
eating, use of alcohol etc are major contributing factors. Nobody is
forced to eat anything in Gurduara. Mr. Sukhdev Singh should be
thankful to Guru Sahibaan for starting such institution in a country
where even look of an untouchable during start of day was considered
bad. Sorry for writing in language, other than mother tongue.Thnaks.

Hello Respected Sathi Sahib,
Please let me introduce myself. My name is
Sukhdev Singh, originally from India, then England and now Canada.
As a schoolboy it was with enthusiasm I used to read your articles
in Preet Lari and upon arriving in England in Des Pardes. I am an
engineer and a part-time professor here in Toronto. I am not a
professional writer, but can appreciate good writings and views.
It was with interest I read your article in
5abi.com regarding the current leadership situation in the
gurduaras. I am appauled at the current situation of gurdwaras and
the apathy shown by the intellectuals, writes and leaders alike. Is
not there any one who can tell the gurdwara care takers that the
food that is cooked and served, far from being a blessing is a
poison. Is butter, milk, atta the only foods god accepts? The rice
pudding is cooked in full fat milk, and then butter is added to it.
I am not sure what god thinks of it, but it is certainly full of
cholestrol and a recipe for a heart attack. I left England 10 years
ago and at the time there was an article in the papers that we
Punjabis are the most likely candidates for heart attack. And the
situation is not much different here in Canada either. Out of tens
of thousands of Punjabi doctors and dieticians is not there a single
individual who can stand up to this sin and make some
recommendation? Why are we so keen to feed samosas and pakoras to
people who come to Gurduaras? Cant we change our Langar habits to a
healthy diet recommended by doctors? Do they have to serve parshad
with the current ingredients?
As a writer you have a moral obligation to
bring up this subject in the open. No doubt people will laugh and
criticise you. How about some salads and fruits. How about donating
some slipers to gurduaras so that people dont have to walk in a
puddle of water when using the washrooms. How about some sope and
toilet paper, which are always missing from Gurduaras. The carpets
are filthy, granthis constantly run their hands over their beard and
give parshad without washing their hands, and the list goes on and
on. I am sure you know the situation better than me.
I dont want to take too much of your time. I
am aware you are a busy man, but please do something about it. We
belong to a highly educated community, yet our social attitudes
leave a lot to be desired for. Unfortunately I dont have any
practice to write in Punjabi fonts. Please acknowledge my email.

I just want to say that person is
ignorant and idot. He don't understand the meaning of these lines. I
just want to make aware to the public that its literal means sounds
so bad that every person can take it personal and get offended. But,
its real meaning go back to our history that is when sikhs were
fighing for so called Hindu's they were few in number and they use
the gurriela attack at 12am ie is early in the morning when the
enemy was sleeping. These people are thankless to the Sikhs because
these great saint and solidhar they are practicing there religion.
Otherwise, all of them could have turned to Muslims.

Dear Sathi ji,
My thoughts about Narender Modi's
comments ( although i have not read these) about Sikh brothers can
be expressed as the attached mail which i recieved from a friend.
It is unfortunate for whole Indian
nation that people holding resposible offices are been allowed to
make such comments. May be we Indians have very short memory, who
have forgotten the glorious time of Sikh gurus and sikh leaders who
not only protected India and Indians but raised them to face and
defeat any attrocities done to them.
Unfortunately today's sikh leaders
have forgotten their role and have done nothing to make aware of the
great philosophy of Great Gurus to the world. SGPC has so many funds
but if they get GURBANI translated in other Indian languages and
other major world languages, then atleast people all over world will
distingush SIKHS as SIKHS not followers of OSAMA BiN Laden etc.
Luckily now Jathedar of Shri Akal Takhet Sahib, Amritsar has
suggested or forwarded this proposal to get GURUBANI translated in
other languages, which should be accepted by SGPC.
It is unfortunate that our Punjabi
brotherhood ( especailly NRI Sikh community) is divided and all are
using faith to generate funds for own.
I would also suggest that instead of
targetting other faiths or religions our sikh brothers and sisters
should propagate GURU'S bani which is for the whole humanity. I
think it is duty of us all not only to understand Guru sahiban's
bani but to make others understand too. It will take time but in the
end Truth will prevail.
Once people will understand the
message of Guru's they themself will thrash or bycott anyone
(irrespective of his or her position)who will be making mockery of
Sikhs.

| I was standing at
Jalandhar station when my attention went towards a Sikh youth
standing near me wearing a Black turban having a long beard
and wearing a kirpan over his shirt. After a while, one local
train arrived, which was totally packed. The Sikh youth tried
to board the train but failed to do so. Just then a voice was
heard from the back coach 'Sardarji, Barah Baj gaye' (Sir it's
12 o'clock!). The Sikh youth looked over at that young
mischievous person and instead of showing any anger smiled at
him. The smile was rather enigmatic as though the SIKH youth
was reminded of something. Not able to resist my temptation, I
walked towards him and asked why did he smile at that person
who teased him. The Sikh youth replied, "He was not teasing me
but was asking for my Help". I was surprised with these words
and he told me that there was history behind that which one
should know.
I was eager to know the History
and the Sikh youth narrated the following:
"During 17th Century, when
Hindustan was ruled by Mughals, all the Hindu people were
humiliated and were treated like animals. Mughals treated the
Hindu women as there own property and were forcing all Hindus
to accept Islam and even used to kill the people if they were
refusing to accept.That time, our Ninth Guru, Sri Guru Teg
Bahadarji came forward, in response to a request of some
Kashmir Pandits to fight against all these cruel activities.
Guruji told the Mughal emperor that if he could succeed in
converting him to Islam, all the Hindus would accept the same.
But, if he failed, he should stop all those activities . The
Mughal emperor happily agreed. But even after lots of torture
to Guruji and his fellow members he failed to convert them to
Islam. Guruji along with his other followers were tortured and
killed brutally at Delhi in Chandni Chowk. Since the Mughals
were unable to convert them to Islam they were assassinated.
Thus Guruji sacrificed his life
for the protection of Hindu religion. Can anybody lay down his
life and that too for the protection of another religion? This
is the reason he is still remembered as "Hind Ki Chaddar",
shield of India. But the people for whom he had had sacrificed
his life did not even come forward to lift his body, fearing
that they would also be assassinated.
Seeing this incident our 10th
Guruji, Sri Guru Gobind Singhji (Son of Guru Teg Bahadarji)
founder of Khalsa made a resolution that he would convert his
followers to such human beings who would not be able to hide
themselves and could be easily located in thousands. At the
start, the Sikhs were very few in numbers as they were
fighting against the Mughal emperors. At that time, Nadir Shah
raided Delhi in the year 1739 and looted Hindustan and was
carrying lot of Hindustan treasures and nearly 2200 Hindu
women along with him. The news spread like fire and was heard
by Sardar Jassa Singh, who was the Commander of the Sikh army
at that time. He decided to attack Nadir Shah's Kafila on the
same midnight. He did so and rescued all the Hindu women and
they were safely sent to their homes. It didn't happen only
once but thereafter whenever any Abdaalis or Iranis attacked
and looted Hindustan and were trying to carry the treasures
and Hindu women along with them for selling them in Abdal
markets, the Sikh Army although fewer in numbers, but brave
hearted, attacked them at midnight, 12 O'clock and rescued the
women folk.
After that time whenever such
an incident happened, people started to contact the Sikh Army
for help and Sikhs used to attack the raider's at Midnight, 12
O'clock. Nowadays, these "smart people" and some Sikh enemies
who are afraid of Sikhs, have spread these words that at 12
O'clock, the Sikhs go out of their senses. This historic fact
was the reason which made me smile, thinking that may be his
Mother or Sister are in trouble and he needs my help. I was
reminded of my glorious past when he said 'Sardarji Barah Baj
Gaye' |

valuable lives were lost.many peoples had to flee out of country
cannot visit homeland & loved ones.he still fool punjabis. |
