ਅਮਨਪ੍ਰੀਤ ਸਿੰਘ ਗਿੱਲ ਲਿਖਤ ਨਵੀਂ ਪੁਸਤਕ "ਯੂਨੀਵਰਸਿਟੀ ਆਫ਼ ਲਿਲੀਪੁਟ" (ਕਹਾਣੀ ਸੰਗ੍ਰਿਹ) ਦੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਿਫ਼ਤ ਸੁਣੀ ਹੈ। ਜੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਨੇ ਪੜੀ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਜ਼ਰਬਾ ਇਨਾਂ ਪੰਨਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਪਾਠਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਸਾਂਝਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕ੍ਰਿਪਾਲਤਾ ਕਰੇ।

ਇਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿਚ ਸਾਡੇ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਅਤੇ ਵਿਦਿਅਕ ਅਦਾਰਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਬੇਸ਼ਰਮੀ ਦੀ ਹੱਦ ਤੀਕਰ ਆ ਚੁੱਕੇ ਨਿਘਾਰ ਤੋਂ ਪਰਦਾਫ਼ਾਸ਼ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਦਲੇਰਾਨਾ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ। ਪੁਸਤਕ ਵਿਚਲੀਆਂ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਸਾਡੇ ਧਰਮ ਅਤੇ ਵਿੱਦਿਆ ਦੇ ਪਹਿਰੇਦਾਰਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਾਲੀਆਂ ਕਰਤੂਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੰਨ-ਬਿੰਨ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰਦੀਆਂ ਹਨ। ਪੁਸਤਕ ਦੀ ਇਕ ਕਹਾਣੀ 'ਕੁੜੀ ਮਾਰ ਕੌਣ' ਖਾਸ ਜ਼ਿਕਰਯੋਗ ਹੈ।

ਜੇ ਸੰਭਵ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਸੰਪਾਦਕ ਹੁਰੀਂ ਇਸ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਦੀਆਂ ਕਹਾਣੀਆਂ ਜਾਂ ਪੁਸਤਕ ਦੀ ਪੜਚੋਲ ਜ਼ਰੂਰ ਛਾਪਣ। ਐਸੀਆਂ ਪੁਸਤਕਾਂ ਰੋਜ਼-ਰੋਜ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਛਪਦੀਆਂ।

Misunderstanding between Sikh protesters and Indigenousness population

Dear Sirs,
It is regrettable how the Sikhs have come across this week in the media. The issue has nothing at all to do with Freedom of Speech, but unfortunately those who put themselves forward as representatives of the Sikh community have not only done an injustice to freedom of Speech, but all Sikhs Communities throughout the UK. Some important points need to be considered by the media in regards to the case of the play Behzti.

Firstly the majority of Sikhs I have spoken to from my generation (British Born) believe the play should never have been taken off by the Rep , due to pressure of Mob violence. Secondly that the playwright has the right to express her opinion. And all Sikhs deep down know that there is a modicum of truth in the scenes depicted. The problem, as stated below, is in its misrepresentation of all Gurdwarsas, which are not at all like that. Secondly of those Sikhs of the previous generation, once I explained the concepts of free speech to them, only one was adamant that the play should be taken off, but admitted that the way the youths in Birmingham went about doing this, was against basic Sikh tenets of belief, and against the law. What is obvious is that many of the Sikh community are upset at the content, and had wished the playwright and the Rep and considered what the effect of the scene may be, or how to employ the point made without such severe offence.

Certain background points need to be cleared up. Unfortunately only the Head Representative of Sikhs in England came across as articulate, due to English not being the first language of those who for their own self-aggrandisement no doubt, put themselves forward. Again let me make something clear. Sikhs are not against democracy or freedom of speech. The problem is public relations, one, and a fear that the majority of Sikh Gurdwarsas and indeed the faith itself will be tainted with the wrong impression to the indigiounous community.

Firstly in the last four hundred years thousands of Sikhs have died not only defending their own faith and beliefs, but those of others. The ninth Sikh Guru (Teacher) sacrificed his head, by standing as defendant of the Hindu faith in a Muslim court. Freedom of speech is a major Sikh tenet.

Secondly, the majority of Sikhs, to my understanding who on that Saturday night only, attacked the playhouse are not exemplary examples of the faith. They came out of a pub for a start, according to one Sikh leader who was interviewed by Jeremy Paxman on Newsnight (Apologies to Mr Paxman, for the use of the word stupid. Where does the BBC source its guests from?). Drinking, smoking and unprovoked violence is an actual dammable sin in Sikhism. Many of these lads were clean-shaven, and I doubt could quote the Sikh Scriptures in their Original Braj and Punjabi. Clearly someone thought it was a good idea to egg them on. Lessons clearly have not been learned from Satanic Verses. If you want the author’s work to be read, use violent protest! If you don’t want the general public to read and see something, stay silent!

Thirdly, Sikhism is use to fair criticism, and this subject has been covered before, albeit in Punjabi. And this is the crux of the problem. The shame of one or two Gurdwaras out of thousands, and a handful of corrupt Gurdwara committees have been kept within the community to deal with. This is the first time it has been expressed in the general English speaking public eye and is embracing for Sikhs. Less so for the yobs described above, more for the honest decent Sikhs, who fear being tarred by the same brush, and quietly stood out side the theatre with their placards, legitimately protesting. Yes the playwright has the right to say what she wants, but these genuine protesters also have their rights. The core of the problem is that over the one hundred years that Sikhs have resided in the UK, no one has placed foreword many positive Sikhs figures on prime time television, and when positive aspects of the religion are discussed, they are done at midnight, where the majority of the population is asleep. Some of this is the fault of the Sikhs themselves. We are not a missionary religion and do not seek to impose our views on others, so our silence has led to ignorant assumptions about us. Indeed many Sikhs born in the UK don’t read Braj or Punjabi and don’t really understand their own religion. Thus when something like this play come around, it sends fears throughout the Sikh community that people will get a misrepresentation of us. Therefore there is a legitimate cause for asking the play to be withdrawn. There is no legitimate cause for gagging the playwright or the theatre.

The manner in which the angry youth reacted on Saturday, not withstanding my comments above, can and does happen in all communities. Look at how Catholics reacted to the Last Temptation of Christ. Indeed even in India, from where the Sikh religion hails, and the Sikh community is more advanced than here, right wing elements murdered one of the greatest Punjabi writers born, because in one poem he was critical. This being despite all the poems he wrote in their favour. I am of course talking about Paash. Also Amrita Preetum , the greatest living Sikh Literary writer is always writing about the feminist view. The problem is not Sikhs, but that the majority of Sikhs are Punjabis , and that many Male Punjabis still adhere to views held by men in the UK only thirty years ago.

Just imagine, if white Christians from the UK settled in Indonesia, and then a play was written in Indonesian about Paedophile Priests. Naturally the white community will be upset about how the Muslims hosts may now perceive them. This is the real reason why Sikhs are upset by the play. Freedom of Speech is not an issue.

Fourthly, it is a fact that in a tiny number of Gurdwaras this has happened. People must understand that the Sikh religion is not organised like the three western ones (Judaism, Christianity and Islam). It is a democratic religion, and has no one leader. Thus anyone or any association making comments to the media only represents the town, congregation or community of their Gurdwara. Each one has an elected committee, which in some areas is corrupt as the churches were in the middle ages. The Sikhs need to sort their own house out, by preventing such acts to occur. The problem is, officially we do not need priests, as each Sikh is free to interpret the scriptures themselves. And the Scriptures are contained in the Adi Granth which is our living Guru and guide. But because of the reasons cited above, the UK is more dependants on the priestly class, which has grown in the last one hundred years. Each loyal to their own objectives, or local community.

So my points above will be an honest representation of my local area, but other Sikh communities will beg to differ. In that sense it is clear that the problem in Birmingham is either the play hit too close to what might have happened in that city, OR such an act can never and has never happened in that community and thus has offended them.

I believe going forward Sikhs need to make a greater effort into teaching the main community about ourselves, and that the main community should take an interest in their neighbour. As far as the scenes in the play are concerned, I hope those who are guilty are routed out, and people realise that the holy Gurdwarsas throughout the land are not all at all like that.

In terms of the play, perhaps it should have been withdrawn, perhaps not. But never in the way that it was, and in that sense I say shame on the Theatre for giving in. I strongly believe most Sikhs are in favour of freedom of speech. This has just become a debacle. Those Sikhs who find it offensive should have used the same tools to fight back. If the playwright can write such a scene, surely the legitimate response from an angry Sikh should have been a critique, an article or counter play? The pen must be fought with a pen. Freedom of speech must be fought with freedom of speech. As the theatre or playwright did not brandish a sword against the Sikh community, we cannot apply the Guru’s axiom to it.

I am sure most Sikhs will be in agreement with me.

ਇਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਫ਼ਰਾਂਸ ਵਰਗੇ ਪਹਿਲੀ ਕਤਾਰ ਦੇ ਮੁਲਕ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ ਕੱਟੜਪੰਥੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਨਕੇਲ ਪਾਉਣ ਦੇ ਬਹਾਨੇ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੀ ਆਲੌਕਿਕ ਪਛਾਣ "ਪੱਗ" ਨੂੰ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਇਨਕਾਰੀ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਸੱਭ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਡੇ ਲੋਕਤੰਤਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਦੀ ਬਹੁਮਤ ਨੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਵਾਂਗਡੋਰ ਇਕ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਮੂਲ ਦੀ ਔਰਤ ਹੱਥ ਸੌਂਪ ਦਿੱਤੀ ਜਿਸਨੇ ਇਸ ਨੇਕ ਕੰਮ ਲਈ ਮੁਲਕ ਦੀ ਅਬਾਦੀ ਦਾ ਕੇਵਲ ਦੋ ਪ੍ਰਤੀਸ਼ਤ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਘੱਟਗਿਣਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਤ ਇਕ "ਪੱਗ" ਧਾਰੀ ਐਸੇ ਸ਼ਖਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਆਪਣੇ ਤੋਂ ਬਿਹਤਰ ਸਮਝਿਆ, ਜਿਸ ਸ਼ਖਸ਼ ਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੇ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਜਿੱਤ ਦਿਵਾਕੇ ਮੁਲਕ ਦੀ ਪਾਰਲੀਮੈਂਟ ਵਿਚ ਸਿਰ ਉੱਚਾ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਮਾਣ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਖਸ਼ਿਆ। ਇਕ ਪਾਸੇ ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ "ਪੱਗ" ਧਾਰੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਰਗੇ ਮੁਲਕ ਵਿਚ ਨਫ਼ਰਤ ਅਤੇ ਹਿੰਸਾ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹੋ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਐਨ ਉਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਦੁਨੀਆ ਦੇ ਅਖਬਾਰਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਮੀਡੀਏ ਵਿਚ ਇਸੇ "ਪੱਗ" ਧਾਰੀ ਸ਼ਖਸ਼ ਦੇ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਨਾਲ ਬੈਠਿਆਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਤਸਵੀਰਾਂ ਨਸ਼ਰ ਹੋ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ।

ਕੀ ਇਹ ਸ਼ਖਸ਼ ਆਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਵਿਚ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕੁੱਝ ਕਹੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਪੰਥ ਦੀ ਦਿਨ-ਰਾਤ ਸੇਵਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰ ਰਿਹਾ ? ਕੀ ਪੰਥ ਦੇ ਇਸ ਨਿਮਾਣੇ ਸੇਵਾਦਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਸੇਵਾ ਦਾ ਬਲ ਬਖਸ਼ਣ ਵਿਚ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਭੂਮੀਕਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ ? ਹੁਣ ਬਹਿਸ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਨੇ ਕੋਈ ਅਹਿਸਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਵਰਗਾ ਕਾਬਿਲ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਹੋਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਮਿਲਿਆ - ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਠੀਕ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿਚ ਅਹਿਸਾਨ ਕਾਹਦਾ- ਪਰ ਹੁਣ ਉਸਨੂੰ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬਣਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਅਦ ਆਖਣਾ ਕਿ ਬਹੁਤ ਕਾਬਿਲ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਹੈ, ਨਿਰਾ ਪਾਖੰਡ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਕੀ ?

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਕਿੱਥੇ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਸੜਕਾਂ ਉਪਰ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਲਈ ਹੱਥ ਜੋੜੀ ਅਰਜ਼ੋਈਆਂ ਕਰਦੇ ਸੀ - ਹੋ ਸਕਦੈ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਪਣਾ ਸਾਰਾ ਜ਼ੋਰ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਉਮੀਦਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਜਤਾਉਣ ਉਪਰ ਲਾ ਛੱਡਿਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਸੰਗਤ ਬਾਦਲ-ਟੋਹੜੇ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਕੀਮਾਂ ਮਗਰ ਲੱਗੀ ਇਸੇ ਨੂੰ ਪੰਥ ਸੇਵਾ ਸਮਝ ਰਹੀ ਸੀ।

ਸੋਨੀਆ ਨੇ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬਣਾਕੇ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦੇ ਦੋ ਮੁੱਖ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣਾ ਨੂੰ ਮੂੰਹ ਪਰਨੇ ਮਾਰਿਆ ਹੈ : ਇਕ ਤਾਂ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਆਪ ਸਿੱਖੀ ਦਾ ਕੱਖ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੰਵਾਰਿਆ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੱਖੀ, ਪੰਥ, ਪੰਜਾਬੀਅਤ ਸੱਭ ਦੇ ਲਹੂ ਨਾਲ ਆਪਣੇ ਫ਼ਾਰਮ ਹਾਊਸ ਸਿੰਜਦੇ ਚਲੇ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਨੇ। ਤੇ ਦੂਸਰਾ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਵਿਚਲੇ ਕੱਟੜਪੰਥੀ ਉਹ ਲੋਕ ਜੋ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਧਰਮ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਹਾਈਜੈਕ ਕਰਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਸਕੀਮਾਂ ਘੜੀ ਬੈਠੇ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਜਿਨਾਂ ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਘੱਟਗਿਣਤੀਆਂ (ਖਾਸ ਕਰ ਮੁਸਲਮਾਨ ਅਤੇ ਇਸਾਈਆਂ) ਦਾ ਜੀਣਾ ਹਰਾਮ ਕਰੀ ਰੱਖਿਆ। ਮਾਫ਼ ਕਰਨਾ ਇਹ ਸੱਭ ਉਹ ਬਾਦਲ ਵਰਗੇ ਲੀਡਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਕੰਧਾੜੇ ਚੜੂਕੇ ਹੀ ਕਰਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬਣਨ ਨਾਲ ਦੋਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਹੀ ਚਿਹਰਾ ਫ਼ਿੱਕਾ ਪੈ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ। ਤੇ ਮੈਂ ਸਮਝਦਾਂ ਜੇ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੇ ਅਜਿਹਾ ਕਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਮੇਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਅਤੇ ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਦਾ ਭੋਰਾ ਵੀ ਭਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਸਾਨ ਹੀ ਹੈ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੇ ਪੱਦ ਤੋਂ ਹਿੰਦੁਸਤਾਨ ਦੇ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿਚ ਇਕ ਜਯੋਤੀ ਬਾਸੂ ਨੂੰ ਛੱਡਕੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਨੇ ਮੂੰਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਮੋੜਿਆ। ਹੋਰ ਤਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਜਦੋਂ ਅਕਾਲ ਤਖਤ ਉਪਰ ਹਮਲਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਜਾਂ ਜਦੋਂ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਇੰਦਰਾ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੇ ਮਰਨ ਉਪਰਾਂਤ ਦੰਗੇ ਹੋਏ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ, ਗਿਆਨੀ ਜ਼ੈਲ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਆਹੁਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਪਿਆਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੀ ਛੱਡਿਆ। ਦਿੱਲੀ ਅਤੇ ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ਦੇ ਦੰਗਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਢੁੱਕਵੀਂ ਸਜ਼ਾ ਦਿਵਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਹਰ ਯਤਨ ਕਰਨਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ - ਪਰ ਕੀ ਮੈਂ ਪੁੱਛ ਸਕਦਾਂ ਕਿ ਬਾਦਲ ਹੁਰਾਂ ਨੇ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਯਾਰੀ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਮੁੱਲ ਵੱਟਿਆ ? ਉਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਵਾ ਸਕੇ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਦੰਗਾਕਾਰੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਜਾਵਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਉਹ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਛੁੱਡਵਾ ਸਕੇ ਜੇਲ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਨਜ਼ਰਬੰਦ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੋਜਵਾਨ ਜੋ ਵਿਚਾਰੇ ਹੁਣ ਤਾਂ ਬਾਦਲਕਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਰਾਹ ਤੱਕਦੇ-ਤੱਕਦੇ ਬੁੱਢੇ ਹੋ ਚੱਲੇ ਨੇ। ਸਗੋਂ ਬਾਦਲ ਹੁਰੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਤਿਲਕ ਲਾਈ ਯਾਰੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਸੋਹਲੇ ਗਾਉਂਦੇ ਫ਼ਿਰਦੇ ਸਨ ਤੇ ਉਧਰ ਭਾਜਪਾ ਦੇ ਮੋਦੀ ਵਰਗੇ ਸ੍ਹਾਨ ਗੁਜਰਾਤ ਵਿਚ ਦਿੱਲੀ ਦੇ ਦੰਗਿਆਂ ਦੀ ਬੇਸ਼ਰਮੀ ਦਾ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਤੋੜ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਕੋਈ ਦੁੱਧ ਧੋਤੀ ਨਹੀਂ, ਇਸ ਵਿਚ ਤਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਵੱਡੇ-ਵੱਡੇ ਮਗਰਮੱਛ ਬੈਠੇ ਨੇ। ਜੇ ਆਪਾਂ ਧਾਰਮਿਕ, ਰਾਜਨੀਤਕ, ਫਿਰਕੂ ਦਾਅਰਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਉਪਰ ਉੱਠਕੇ, ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਵਰਗੇ ਲੀਡਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੇਲੇ ਸਿਰ ਪਛਾਣੀਏ ਅਤੇ ਐਸੇ ਲੀਡਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਅਗਵਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਬਲ ਪ੍ਰਦਾਨ ਕਰੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਆਪੇ ਹੀ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੇ ਅਹਿਸਾਨ ਦਾ ਸਵਾਲ ਹੀ ਪੈਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੋਵੇਗਾ।

Dear AmbaniBrothers,

It is a question the whole world does not understand why are you both not co-operating with each other? The reliance empire was built with the sweat of your family members, friends, relatives, investors - all. Both of You were also instrumental and a part of its development. Today, both of you lead a life which even the wealthiest Indian can only dream of - then why are you bent upon to sink your ownship?

Please remember The of system that India has - it was only Dhirubhai who could build such a castle. And since this castle is built on very thin foundations, it needs your able support. Please again remember that in India, in bad times no one is spared. Even dignitaries like Indira Gandhi, Narsimha Rao, Shankaracharyaji, Chandraswamy, Bharat Shah, Harshad Mehta, Sanjay Dutt has faced such bad times they had never imagined to happen in their lives.

Take my words for granted - if you do not stop your internal disputes, a day will come that both of you will repent for your lives for your foolishness. Until the Sun shines all things are rosy but once the Sun starts setting you may long to see the light of next morning without knowing when the morning willcome.

Birmingham De Naklie

The time has come for the Whole Sikh Panth to see underneath our own ottoman. During the time of Guru Govind Singh ji some naklie came to their Darbar and they recite the nakal of Masand. Masand were doing the same thing that has been shown in the play in Birmingham. But the writer of that play has gone too far and insults the whole Sikh Darbars by adding the Gur Duara in that play. But Guru Ji did not say any thing to those Naklie and went back to his Aasan (room) and start to think about that Nakal. Ultimately he (Guru) put the whole matter for inquiry and find out the truth. After finding the truth he burn those Masand by putting them in the boiled oil ponds, with his own hands and finished the Masand Pratha

If that play is a fiction, then it should be brought to the attention of AKAL TAKHAT. Because they insult the Guru and the Guru Khalsa. If it is a reality and happen some ware with some one, then the inquiry should be made by the AKAL TAKHAT and responsible people should be brought to justice.

It does not come under the freedom of speech. No person has any right to insult any body under the freedom of speech right. They should go and read in UK constitution under the freedom of speech right. Freedom of speech right does not allow insulting any religion or any nation as a whole. How ever it allows criticizing on the facts and figures, not on the fictions.

They should be banned from playing that play and they should apologize from the Sikh Nation and the AKAL TAKHAT.

ਭਾਵੇਂ ਕੁਦਰਤੀ ਜਾਂ ਮਨੁੱਖੀ ਹੋਵੇ ॥

ਦਸੰਬਰ ਦਾ ਮਹੀਨਾ, ਠੰਢ ਦਾ ਜੋਰ ਤੇ ਭੋਪਾਲ ਦਾ ਕਾਂਡ । ਕੀ ਕਸੂਰ ਸੀ ਉਨਾਂ ਸ਼ਹਿਰੀਆਂ ਦਾ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਭੋਪਾਲ ਦੇ ਉਸ ਕਾਰਖਾਨੇ ਕੋਲ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚੋਂ ਨਿਕਲੀ ਜਹਿਰੀਲੀ ਗੈਸ ਨੇ ਉਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਦਾ ਨਾਮੋ-ਨਿਸ਼ਾਨ ਖਤਮ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ । ਜਿਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਕਸੂਰ ਸੀ , ਇਸ ਕਾਂਡ ਦੇ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਵੀ ਉਨਾਂ ਦਾ ਵਾਲ ਵੀ ਵਿੰਗਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਿਆ ।

ਬਿਲਕੁਲ ਇਸੇ ਤਰਾਂ ਨਵੰਬਰ ਦੇ ਦੰਗਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਹਸ਼ਰ ਹੋਇਆ । ਜਿਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਦੰਗੇ ਕੀਤੇ ਸਨ, ਉਹ ਤਾਂ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਬਣੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਉਨਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਸਿੱਖ ਜੱਥੇਬੰਦੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਆਪਣੀ ਗੈਰਤ ਨੂੰ ਮਿੱਟੀ ਵਿਚ ਰੋਲ ਕੇ , ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਿਰੋਪੇ ਦੇ ਰਹੀਆਂ ਹਨ । ਪਰ ਜੋ ਇਨਾਂ ਦੰਗਿਆਂ ਦਾ ਸ਼ਿਕਾਰ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ, ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਸਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈ ਰਿਹਾ ।

ਲੇਖਕ ਇਹ ਪੁੱਛ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਕਿਉਂ ਮਨੁੱਖ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਹੀ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣੀਆਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਬਣਾ ਲੈਂਦਾ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਉਤਾਰੂ ਹੋ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਦਾ ਉਤਰ ਇਹ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਆਮ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਤਾਂ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਸਹੀ ਵਿਚਾਰਧਾਰਾ ਅਪਨਾਉਂਦਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਆਪਣਾ ਜਨਮ ਸਫਲਾ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗਾ ਰਹਿੰਦਾ ਹੈ । ਪਰ ਕੁਝ ਸ਼ਰਾਰਾਤੀ ਅਨਸਰ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਮੁੱਖੀ ਕੁਝ ਲੀਡਰ ਟਾਈਪ ਬੰਦੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਹਨ, ਸਾਰੇ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਨੂੰ ਧਰਮ ਦੀ ਕਟੜਤਾ ਦਾ ਰੰਗ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਦੂਜੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦੋਸ਼ੀ ਸਿੱਧ ਕਰਨ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਨਤੀਜਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ, ਕਤਲ ਕਾਂਡ ਤੇ ਦੰਗੇ । ਇਸ ਦਾ ਫਾਇਦਾ ਉਠਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਕ ਲੋਕ, ਜੋ ਕਿ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਕਤਲ, ਲੁੱਟ ਮਾਰ ਕਰਵਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਫਿਰ ਹਮਦਰਦੀ ਦਿਖਾਉਂਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਮਗਰਮੱਛ ਦੇ ਅੱਥਰੂ ਕੇਰਨ ਲੱਗ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਹਨ । ਇਹੀ ਕੁਝ '47 ਦੇ ਦੰਗਿਆਂ ਵਿਚ ਹੋਇਆ ਸੀ । ਆਮ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਤਾਂ ਦੰਗਿਆਂ ਦੌਰਾਨ, ਸਗੋਂ ਦੂਜੇ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਨਾਗਰਿਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਚਾਉਣ ਵਸ, ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਵਿਚ ਲੁਕੋ ਲੈਂਦੇ ਹਨ । ਪਰ ਸ਼ਰਾਰਤੀ ਅਨਸਰ ਕਈ ਵਾਰ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਖਸ਼ਦੇ ( ਇਹ ਕਹਿੰਦੇ ਹੋਏ ਕਿ ਇਹ ਵੀ ਧਰਮ-ਵਿਰੋਧੀ ਹੈ ) । ਵੇਖੋ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਰਖਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਕਾਰੇ ! ! !

ਸੋ ਜਦ ਤੱਕ ਦੰਗੇ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਖਤ ਸਜਾਵਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਦਿਤੀਆਂ ਜਾਂਦੀਆਂ, ਤਦ ਤਕ ਦੰਗੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ ਤੇ ਬੇਦੋਸ਼ੇ ਮਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਣਗੇ । ਇਸ ਦੇ ਨਤੀਜੇ ਵਜੋਂ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਸਭਿਅਤਾ ਦਾ 'ਨਜਾਰਾ' ਸਾਰੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵੇਖਦੀ ਰਹੇਗੀ ॥

Hello Mr. Sra,

Many thanks for your kind response. I would like to point out that I did not send you a site to read someone’s opinion or an interview, but a site to a real book. While I congratulate you on having a Master’s degree in political science, I find it hard that a person with your education would formulate his opinion on the basis of other people’s opinion. Any political scientist will tell you “know your political enemy better than your friends”, yet by your own admission you have neither read him nor intend to do so.

The only reason I responded to your letter was that you asked, “Why should I call him a Mahatma?” If you have already made up your mind, why are you asking? And remember while you are entitled to your opinion, it cannot be more important than all the intellectual individuals the world over, who have and continue to respect Gandhi and call him Mahatma. The British did not conspire to recruit almost every county to respect Gandhi.

The kind of silly joke about Gandhi getting drunk in an Ahata might be good enough coming from a high school boy in a chat room, it not the language or the level of discussion people have in this room. Disagreements are inevitable in any discussion, but a well-studied discussion benefits everyone, even if you agree to disagree. I agree with you: “why just Gandhi?” There are numerous other equally deserving candidates. But won’t they get drunk in an Ahata?

I read Mr. BS Dhillon's letter in regards to Mrs. Sonia Gandhi. Off course Sonia Gandhi is a much better politician than her mother-in-law and husband and is playing safe. Mrs. Sonia Gandhi is trying her best to win the hearts of Sikh people and make up for the atrocities her mother-in-law and husband have inflicted upon Sikhs. Sonia has appointed Mr. Man Mohan Singh as the PM of India for sole purpose of improving the image of congress and make clear way for her children to later take over the leadership of the congress party. As far as the Indian army's chief, that I think Gen. JJ Singh have earned himself and merit has played a major role in his appointment.

Mrs. Sonia Gandhi is not doing any favour to Sikhs or Punjab but it is sorry state of affairs that some Sikhs and Punjabi's are still not able to understand simple logics of politics.

ਆਫ਼ਰੀਨ! ਜੋ ਤੁਸਾਂ ਇਕ ਨਿਰਪੱਖ ਸਿੱਖ ਵਜੋਂ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਹੈ।

ਹੇਠਾਂ, ਮੈਂ ਆਪਜੀ ਦੇ ਸਰੇਸ਼ਟਮ ਲੇਖ 'ਤੇ ਸ਼ਰਧਾ ਦੇ ਫੁੱਲ ਅਰਪਣ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੁਝ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਅੰਕਤ ਕਰ ਦੇਵਾਂ।

ਜਿਸ ਵੇਲੇ ਸੋਨੀਆਂ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਹੋਣਾ ਤਹਿ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ, ਅਤੇ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਹੋਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਣ ਬਾਅਦ ( ਕਿਸੇ ਕਾਰਨ ਕਰਕੇ ਵੀ) ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪ ਓਸ ਔਹਦੇ ਨੂੰ ਨਾ ਸਵੀਕਾਰ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਨਿਰਣਾ ਲਿਆ, ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਤਲਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਧਰੀ ਹੋਈ ਸੀ, ਕਿ ਉਹ ਸ.ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਵਾਗ ਡੋਰ ਫੜਾ ਦੇਵੇ। ਬਥੇਰੇ ਲੋਕੀਂ ਪੜਦੇ ਪਿੱਛੇ ਕਿਆਸ ਆਰਾਈਆਂ ਲਾਈ ਬੈਠੇ ਹੋਣ ਗੇ।

ਜਿਸ ਸੋਨੀਆਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਭਾਜਪਾਈਆਂ ਨੇ ਕੋਝੀ ਤੋਂ ਕੋਝੀ ਬੋਲਬਾਣੀ ਵਰਤ ਕੇ, ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਬਹੁਗਿਣਤੀ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਜ਼ਰਾਂ ਤੋਂ ਡੇਗਣ ਦੀ ਕੋਸ਼ਿਸ਼ ਕੀਤੀ, ਚੱਪਲੀਆਂ ਘੜੀਸਦੀ ਉਸ ਕੱਲੀ ਇਸਤਰੀ ਨੇ, ਦਿਨ ਰਾਤ ਇਕ ਕਰਕੇ ਮੁਲਕ ਦੇ ਮਫ਼ਾਦ ਖਾਤਰ ਇਕ ਇਕ ਝੁੱਗੀ ਦਾ ਬੂਹਾ ਖੜਕਾਇਆ। ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਦੇਸ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਭ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਟ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਫ਼ਤਵਾ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਮਜਬੂਰ ਕਰ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਭਾਜਪਾਈ ਉਂਗਲਾਂ ਟੁੱਕਦੇ ਰਹਿ ਗੇ।

ਆਸ਼ਾ ਹੈ, ਮੇਰੀ ਕਵਿਤਾ ( ਗੀਤ ਨਯਾ ਗਾਤਾ ਹੂੰ ) ਨੇ ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਆਪ ਸਭ ਦਾ ਮਨੋਰੰਜਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਵੇ।

ਇਕ ਪਾਸੇ 9 ਜਣਿਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਵੱਧ - ਬਾਜਪਾਈ, ਅਡਵਾਨੀ, ਵੈਕਈਆ, ਸੁਸ਼ਮਾ ਸਵਾਰਾਜ, ਉਮਾ ਭਾਰਤੀ, ਨਰਿੰਦਰ ਮੋਦੀ, ਜੇਤਲੀ, ਪ੍ਰਮੋਦ ਮਹਾਜਨ, ਮਲਹੋਤਰਾ ਆਦਿ ਤੇ ਦੂਸਰੇ ਪਾਸੇ ਇਕੱਲੀ ਸੋਨੀਆਂ। ਮੈਂ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਜਾਣਦਾ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਮੇਰੇ ਖਤਾਂ ਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਕਦੇ ਓਸ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਜਵਾਬ ਤੱਕ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਇਆ।

ਕਿਸੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਸ਼ਖਸੀਅਤ ਦਾ ਕਿਰਦਾਰ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਹੈ। ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਉਸ ਨੇ (ਇੰਦਰਾ ਦੇ ਕੁਕਰਮਾਂ ਲਈ) ਪਸਚਾਤਾਪ ਕਰਨ ਦਾ ਇਹੋ ਜਿਹਾ ਸਵਰਣ ਮੌਕਾ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਗਵਾਉਣਾ ਚਾਹਿਆ। ਅਤੇ ਭਾਰਤ ਦੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤੀ ਵਿਚ, ਇਕ ਨਾ ਭੁੱਲਣ ਵਾਲਾ ਇਤਹਾਸ ਸਿਰਜ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਜੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਅਜੋਕੇ ਮੌਕਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਤ ਅਕਾਲੀ ਲੀਡਰਾਂ ਹੱਥ, ਮੁਲਕ ਦਾ ਤਾਜ ਆਇਆ ਹੋਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਏਨੀ ਆਸਾਨੀ ਨਾਲ ਹੱਥੋਂ ਨਾਂ ਜਾਣ ਦੇਣ।

ਸ੍ਰੀ ਗੁਰੂ ਗਰੰਥ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਜੀ ਵਿਚ ਖਿਮਾ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਬਾਰੇ ਕਈ ਥਾਵਾਂ 'ਤੇ ਅੰਕਤ ਹੈ। ਜਿਸ ਦਾ ਦਰਜਾ ਹੋਰ ਇਨਸਾਨੀ ਗੁਣਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਕਿੰਨਾਂ ਹੀ ਸ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ। ਐਪਰ ਸਾਡੀ ਕੌਮ ਦੇ (ਤਿਲਕ ਧਾਰੀ) ਨੇਤਾ ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ( ਕੁਨਬਾ ਪ੍ਰਸਤੀ ਤੋਂ ਪਰ੍ਹਾਂ) ਸਿੱਖੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਕੋਈ ਅਕੀਦਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ, ਅਤੇ ਜਿੰਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੌਮ ਅਤੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਨੂੰ ਭਾਜਪਾਈਆਂ ਹੱਥ ਨੀਲਾਮ ਕੀਤਾ ਹੋਇਆ ਹੈ, (ਭਾਵੇਂ ਸੋਨਿਆਂ ਨੇ, ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੇ ਦਰਸ਼ਨ ਕਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਆਪ੍ਰੇਸ਼ਨ ਬਲੂ ਸਟਾਰ ਦੀ ਨਿਖੇਧੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ) ਉਹ ਕਦੀ ਵੀ ਇਹ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਹਿਣ ਲੱਗੇ।

ਚੱਲੋ ਬੀਬੀ ਸੋਨੀਆਂ ਜੀ, ਇਹ ਕੁਝ ਕਰਕੇ ਜੋ ਤੁਸਾਂ ਸੁਹਿਰਦਤਾ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣ ਦਿੱਤਾ ਹੈ।ਅੱਜ ਤੋਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਗਿਲੇ ਸ਼ਿਕਵੇ ਦੂਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ। ਅਤੇ ਸਾਡੀ ਸਰਬੱਤ ਦੇ ਭਲੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਕੌਮ, ਇੰਦਰਾ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੀ ਗ਼ਲਤੀ ਲਈ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਨੂੰ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਲਈ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਕਰਦੀ ਹੈ।

ਦੂਸਰੀ ਗੱਲ।

ਅੱਧੀ ਸਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਵੱਧ ਸਮਾਂ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਭਾਰਤ ਆਜ਼ਾਦ ਹੋਏ ਨੂੰ। ਮੇਰੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਕਈ ਰਿਸ਼ਤੇਦਾਰ ਲੈਫ਼ਟੀਨੈਂਟ ਜਨਰਲ ਤੱਕ ਦੇ ਔਹਦਿਆਂ 'ਤੇ ਰਹਿ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਰੀਟਾਇਰ ਹੋ ਗਏ।

ਹੁਣ ਤੱਕ ਇਹ ਹੀ ਅਕਸਰ ਪ੍ਰਚਾਰਿਆ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਮਿਲਟਰੀ ਦੇ ਸਰਵੋਤਮ ਰੈਂਕ ਲਈ ਸੀਨੀਆਰਿਟੀ ਹੀ ਮੁੱਖ ਕਾਬਲੀਅਤ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਐਪਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਸੱਜਣੋ, ਇਸ ਜਗਾਹ ਪਹੁੰਚ ਕੇ ਵੀ ਸਿੱਖ ਅਫ਼ਸਰ ( ਕਿੰਗ-ਮੇਕਰਜ਼ ਦੇ ਰਹਿਮੋ ਕਰਮ ਤੇ ਹੀ ਰਹਿੰਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ) ਅਤੇ ਮਿਲਟਿਰੀ ਦੇ ਕਾਨੂੰਨ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਖੂਨ ਦੇ ਘੁੱਟ ਭਰ ਕੇ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਰਹੇ। ( ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਉਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਰੀਟਾਇਰ ਹੋਕੇ ਪਰਵਾਰ ਪਾਲਣੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸਨ।)

ਇਹ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਮੌਕਾ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਏਸ ਵੀਰਾਂਗਣਾ ਨੇ, ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੀ ਸਿਫ਼ਾਰਸ਼ ਨਾ ਸੁਣੇ ਬਗ਼ੈਰ, ਇਸ ਵਾਰ ਫੇਰ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਪਾ ਲਈ ਹੈ। ਅਤੇ ਇਕ ਸਿੱਖ ਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਪ੍ਰਮਾਣੂ ਸ਼ਕਤੀ ਵਾਲੇ ਮੁਲਕ ਦੀ ਤਾਕਤ ਦਾ ਨਿਗ੍ਹੇਬਾਨ ਬਣਾ ਦਿੱਤਾ। ਅਤੇ (  Through this act of confirmation  ) ਇਕ ਕ੍ਰਿਸ਼ਮਾ ਕਰ ਵਿਖਾਇਆ, ਕਿਧਰੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਉਸਦੀ ਦਰਿਆ ਦਿਲੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਭੁਲੇਖੇ ਵਿਚ ਨਾ ਰਹਿ ਜਾਵੇ ਕਿ ਉਸਨੇ ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਮੁੱਖ ਸਥਾਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਸਿੱਖਾ ਦਾ ਰਿਣ ਅਦਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਗੋਂ 'ਅਜੇ ਕੁਝ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਦੇਣਾ ਬਾਕੀ ਰਹਿ ਗਿਆ ਸੀ ਤੁਹਾਡੇ ਹਿੱਸੇ ਦਾ।'

ਹੁਣ ਵੀ ਜੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਕੌਮ ਅਕਰਿਤਘਣ ਹੋ ਗੁਜ਼ਰੇਗੀ ਤਾਂ ਸਾਡੀਆਂ ਪੁਸ਼ਤਾਂ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਕਦੇ ਵੀ ਮੁਆਫ਼ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਰਨ ਗੀਆਂ।

ਚੰਡੀਗੜ੍ਹ ਤੋਂ ਢਿਲੋਂ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਦੀ ਚਿੱਠੀ ਪੜੀ ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੇ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਗਾਂਧੀ ( ? ) ਦੀਆਂ ਸਿਫਤਾਂ ਦੇ ਪੁਲ ਬੰਨ ਦਿਤੇ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਨਾਲ ਹੀ ਕਿਹਾ ਕਿ ਉਹ ਕੋਈ ਟਿਕਟ ਲੈਣ ਦੇ ਚਾਹਵਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ।

ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਗੱਲ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਖੀ ਕਿ ਜਦੋਂ ਬੀ ਜੇ ਪੀ ਨੇ ਸੋਨੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਦੋਸ਼ (?) ਲਾਇਆ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਨੇ ਸ. ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਦਾ ਨਾਮ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਲਈ ਤਜਵੀਜ ਕੀਤਾ, ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਕਿਉਂ ਨਹੀਂ ? ਨਾਲੇ ਸ. ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਤਾਂ ਇੱਕ ਕਾਬਲ ਵਿਅਕਤੀ ਹਨ ਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਦੀ ਕੁਰਸੀ ਬਿਠਾ ਕੇ ਕਾਂਗਰਸ ਦਾ ਵਕਾਰ ਵਧਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ । ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਬਾਦ ਸ. ਜੋਗਿੰਦਰ ਜਸਵੰਤ ( ਜੇ.ਜੇ.) ਸਿੰਘ ਦੀ ਫੌਜ ਦੇ ਮੁਖੀ ਵਜੋਂ ਤੈਨਾਤੀ ਵੀ ਮੈਰਿਟ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਹੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਗਈ ਹੈ । ਕੋਈ ਅਹਿਸਾਨ ਨਹੀਂ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ! ਪਰ ਇੱਕ ਗੱਲ ਸਪਸ਼ਟ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਵਿਦੇਸ਼ੀ ਕਦਰਾਂ ਕੀਮਤਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਹੋਣ ਕਾਰਨ ਮੈਰਿਟ ਵਾਲੇ ਵਿਅਕਤੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਕਦਰ ਪਾ ਰਹੀ ਹੈ , ਜੋ ਕਿ ਹੋਰ ਕਾਂਗਰਸੀ ਸ਼ਾਇਦ ਹੀ ਕਰ ਸਕਣ ।

ਬਾਕੀ ਵਕੀਲ ਸਾਹਬ ਦਾ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣਾ ਕਿ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਸ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਫਿਰਦੀ ਹੈ । ਇਹ ਉਹ ਸੱਸ ਸੀ ਜਿਸ ਨੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ / ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੀ ਰੱਜ ਕੇ ਬੇਜਤੀ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ ਤੇ ਇਸ ਤੋਂ ਹੀ ਰਾਜਨੀਤਕ ਲਾਹਾ ਖੱਟ ਕੇ ਹੀ ਉਹ ਵੋਟਾਂ ਜਿਤੀ ਸੀ ।

ਜੇ ਵਾਕਿਆ ਹੀ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਸਲਿਆਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਗੰਭੀਰ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਹੇਠ ਲਿਖੇ ਕਾਰਜ ਸਿਰੇ ਚਾੜਨੇ ਚਾਹੀਦੇ ਹਨ :-

1) ਦਰਬਾਰ ਸਾਹਿਬ ਤੇ ਹੋਏ ਹਮਲੇ ਦੀ ਸੰਸਦ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਫੀ ਮੰਗੀ ਜਾਵੇ ।

2) ਹਮਲੇ ਦੌਰਾਨ ਲੁਟੀਆਂ ਗਈਆਂ ਬੇਸ਼ੁਮਾਰ ਕੀਮਤੀ ਵਸਤਾਂ ਜਲਦੀ ਤੋਂ ਜਲਦੀ ਵਾਪਸ ਕਰਵਾਈਆਂ ਜਾਣ ।

3) '84 ਦੇ ਦੰਗਿਆਂ ਦੇ ਦੋਸ਼ੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਸਖਤ ਤੋਂ ਸਖਤ ਸਜਾਵਾਂ ਦੇਣ ਲਈ ਸਹੀ ਅਦਾਲਤੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਮੌਕਾ ਦਿਤਾ ਜਾਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਹੈ । ਦੰਗਿਆਂ ਨਾਲ ਪ੍ਰਭਾਵਿਤ ਪਰਿਵਾਰਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਿਨਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਰੀ ਦੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਸਰਕਾਰ ਦੀ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਵਸਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ ।

4) ਜੇਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ ਬੰਦ ਬੇ-ਕਸੂਰ ਨੌਜਵਾਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਜੇ ਕਰ ਕੋਈ ਕੇਸ ਬਣਦੇ ਹਨ ਤਾਂ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦਾ ਸਹੀ ਅਦਾਲਤੀ ਕਾਰਵਾਈ ਕਰ ਕੇ ਨਿਪਟਾਰਾ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ਨਹੀਂ ਤਾਂ ਬਿਨਾਂ ਕਿਸੇ ਹੋਰ ਦੇਰੀ ਦੇ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬਾ-ਇਜਤ ਬਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਜਾਵੇ ।

5) ਦਿੱਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਨੂੰ ਸਹੀ ਤਰੀਕੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਾਗੂ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ ।

6) ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਪਾਣੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਬਟਵਾਰਾ , ਦੱਖਣ ਦੇ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਵਾਲੀ ਨੀਤੀ ਅਨੁਸਾਰ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਜਾਵੇ ।

7) ਹੋਰ ਰਾਜਾਂ ਵਾਂਗ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਵੀ ਵੱਡੇ ਵੱਡੇ ਕੇਂਦਰੀ ਪ੍ਰੋਜੈਕਟ ਲਗਵਾਏ ਜਾਣ ਤਾਂ ਕਿ ਇਥੋਂ ਦੇ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਰੁਜਗਾਰ ਮਿਲ ਸਕੇ ।

ਜੇ ਕਰ ਇਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਤੱਥਾਂ ਵੱਲ ਸੋਨੀਆਂ ਧਿਆਨ ਦੇਵੇ ਤਾਂ ਹੀ ਉਸ ਨੂੰ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਖੈਰ-ਖਵਾਹ ਕਿਹਾ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ।

Thanks for all work to get special indetification of sikhs. When we saw the poster we felt very happy.

I want to give a little suggestion about that there should be a picture of true sikh like with open and long beard because when out of asian people see real sikh with long beard and "AMRITDHARI SINGH" they cannot get difference between sikh and muslim people.

ਤੁਸੀਂ ਮੇਰੇ ਲੇਖ ਲਗਾਤਾਰ ਛਾਪ ਰਹੇ ਹੋ। ਧੰਨਵਾਦ! ਮੈਂ ਰੋਜਾਨਾ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਖ ਸਕਦਾ ਕਿਉਂਕੇ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਟਾਈਪਿੰਗ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੀ। ਮੈਂ ਸਟੈਨੋ ਨੂੰ ਡਿਕਟੇਸ਼ਨ ਦੇ ਕੇ ਲਿਖਵਾਉਂਦਾ ਹਾਂ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਸੰਪਾਦਕਾਂ ਦੇ ਨਾਂਮ ਖਤ ਤਾਂ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲਿਖਦਾ। ਪਰ ਕੁੱਝ ਸਮੇਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਪਰਚਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਰੋਧਾਭਾਸੀ ਲੇਖ ਤੇ ਪੱਤਰ ਪੜ੍ਹਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲੇ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਅੱਜ ਪਹਿਲਾ ਖਤ ਲਿਖ ਰਿਹਾ ਹਾਂ। ਉਂਜ ਵੀ ਅੱਜ ਹਾਈਕੋਰਟ ਵਿੱਚ ਨਵੇਂ ਸਾਲ ਦੀਆਂ 15 ਛੁੱਟੀਆਂ ਹੋ ਗਈਆਂ ਹਨ। ਇਸ ਲਈ ਇੱਕ ਝੁੱਟੀ ਸ਼ਰੀਕਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਵੀ ਲਾ ਹੀ ਲਈਏ।

ਇੱਕ ਸਵਾਲ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਲੇਖਕ ਦਾ ਧਰਮ ਕੀ ਹੈ? ਸਮੇਂ ਦਾ ਸੱਚ ਲਿਖਣਾਂ ਜਾਂ ਅੱਖਾਂ ਤੇ ਕੋਈ ਖਾਸ ਰੰਗ ਦੀ ਐਨਕ ਲਾਕੇ ਇਸ ਫਾਂਨੀ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵਿਚਰਨਾ? ਇੱਕ ਗੱਲ ਹੋਰ ਸਪੱਸ਼ਟ ਕਰ ਦਿਆਂ ਕਿ ਮੈਡਮ ਸੋਨੀਆਂ ਤੋਂ ਮੈਂ ਕੋਈ ਟਿਕਟ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੈਣੀ। ਪਰ ਮੈਨੂੰ ਇਹ ਕਹਿਣ ਵਿੱਚ ਕੋਈ ਸੰਕੋਚ ਨਹੀਂ ਕਿ ਅੱਜ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਉਸਦੇ ਕੱਦ ਦਾ ਬੇਦਾਗ ਤੇ ਕੁਰਬਾਨੀ ਕਰਨ ਵਾਲਾ ਆਗੂ ਇੱਕ ਵੀ ਨਹੀਂ। ਸਾਡੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਦੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਲੀਡਰਾਂ 'ਚ ਤਾਂ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਨਹੀਂ। ਪਰ ਸਾਡੇ ਕਈ ਲੇਖਕ ਆਨੀ ਬਹਾਨੀ ਸੋਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪਾਣੀ ਪੀ ਪੀ ਕੋਸਦੇ ਹਨ। ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀ 'ਮਜਬੂਰੀ' ਸਮਝ ਆ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ, ਪਰ ਲੇਖਕ ਦੇ ਧਰਮ ਦਾ ਕੀ ਬਣੇਗਾ? ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਗੱਲ ਲਈ ਸੋਨੀਆਂ ਦਾ ਅਹਿਸਾਨਮੰਦ ਹੋਣਾ ਚਾਹੀਦਾ ਕਿ ਉਹਨੇ ਆਪਣਾ ਤਾਜ ਚੁੱਕਕੇ ਇੱਕ ਸਿੱਖ (ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ) ਦੇ ਸਿਰ ਤੇ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਹੈ। ਮਨਮੋਹਨ ਸਿੰਘ ਨੇ ਅੰਮ੍ਰਿਤਸਰ ਵਿਖੇ ਚਾਰ ਸੌ ਸਾਲਾ ਸਥਾਪਣਾਂ ਦਿਵਸ ਮੌਕੇ ਖੁਦ ਨੂੰ ਅਦਨਾਂ ਸਿੱਖ ਤੇ ਸਾਹਮਣੇ ਬੈਠੇ ਇਕੱਠ ਨੂੰ ਖਾਲਸਾ ਜੀ ਕਹਿ ਕਿ ਸੰਬੋਧਨ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ। ਉਹ ਸਾਡੇ ਕੁੜੀ ਮਾਰ ਤੇ ਭੁੱਕੀ ਮਾਰਕਾ ਸ਼੍ਰੋਮਣੀ ਕਮੇਟੀ ਮੈਂਬਰਾਂ ਨਾਲੋਂ ਵੱਡਾ ਸਿੱਖ ਹੈ। ਸਾਡੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਅਕਾਲੀ/ਕਾਂਗਰਸੀ/ਕਾਮਰੇਡ ਭਾਈ ਤਾਂ ਐੱਮ.ਐੱਲ.ਏ.ਦੀ ਨਾਂਮਜਦਗੀ ਭਰਨ ਵੇਲੇ ਵੀ ਆਪਣਾ ਵਾਰਸ ਆਪਣੇ ਪੁੱਤ, ਧੀ ਜਾਂ ਪਤਨੀ ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਉਂਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਗੱਲ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਅਹਿਮ ਬਣ ਜਾਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸਨੇ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਵੱਲੋਂ ਮਾਰੀ ਗਈ ਆਪਣੀ ਸੱਸ ਦੀ ਲਾਸ਼ ਆਪਣੀਆਂ ਬਾਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਚੁੱਕੀ ਹੋਵੇ। ਅਸੀਂ ਜੱਟ ਤਾਂ ਤਿੰਨ ਪੀਹੜੀਆਂ ਤੱਕ ਆਪਣੇ ਬਾਪ ਦੇ ਕਾਤਲ ਨੂੰ ਨਹੀਂ ਭੁੱਲਦੇ। ਜਦੋਂ ਕਿ ਗੁਰੂ ਗੋਬੰਦ ਸਿੰਘ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਸੱਭ ਭੁੱਲ ਕੇ (ਔਰੰਗੇ ਦੇ ਪੁੱਤ) ਬਹਾਦਰ ਸ਼ਾਹ ਦੀ ਮੱਦਤ ਕੀਤੀ ਸੀ। ਦੂਜਾ, ਮੈਡਮ ਨੇ ਐਟਮੀ ਹਥਿਆਰਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਲੈਸ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਦੂਜੀ ਵੱਡੀ ਫੌਜ ਦਾ ਮੁਖੀ ਸਿੱਖ (ਜੇ.ਜੇ.ਸਿੰਘ) ਨੂੰ ਬਣਾਇਆ ਹੈ। ਐਡੀ ਤਾਕਤਵਰ ਫੌਜ ਦਾ ਮੁਖੀ ਹੋਣ ਦਾ ਮਤਲਬ ਪਾਕਸਤਾਨੀਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਪੁੱਛ ਕੇ ਵੇਖ ਲਵੋ, ਅੱਖਾਂ ਖੁੱਲ੍ਹ ਜਾਣਗੀਆਂ। ਕੀ ਸਮਕਾਲੀ ਇਤਿਹਾਸ ਵਿੱਚ ਅਜਿਹੀ ਕੋਈ ਮਸਾਲ ਹੈ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਸਿਰਫ ਡੇਢ ਫੀ ਸਦੀ ਦੀ ਘੱਟ ਗਿਣਤੀ ਦਾ ਪ੍ਰਧਾਂਨ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਤੇ ਦੇਸ਼ ਦੀ ਫੌਜ ਦਾ ਜਰਨੈਲ ਹੋਵੇ?ਇਹਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਜੇ ਸਾਡੇ ਕਈ ਲੇਖਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਜੇ ਸੋਨੀਆਂ ਦੀ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਵਿਰੁੱਧ ਕੋਈ ਚਾਲ ਨਜਰ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਅਜਿਹੇ ਵਿਦਵਾਨਾਂ ਅੱਗੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਹੱਥ ਖੜ੍ਹੇ ਹਨ। ਜੇ ਅਜੇ ਵੀ ਕੋਈ ਸਿੱਖ ਲੇਖਕ ਸੋਨੀਆਂ ਤੇ ਤਵਾ ਲਾ ਰਿਹਾ ਹੈ ਤਾਂ ਇਹ ਸਿਰਫ ਤੇ ਸਿਰਫ ਤੋਰੀ ਫੁਲਕੇ ਦਾ ਮਸਲਾ ਹੈ,ਲੇਖਕ ਦਾ ਧਰਮ ਉੱਕਾ ਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ।

ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਬਾਰੇ ਜਾਰੀ ਕੀਤਾ ਗਿਆ ਪੋਸਟਰ, ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਲਈ ਚੰਗੇ ਵਕਤ ਦੀ ਸ਼ੁਰੂਆਤ ਹੈ । ਜੇ ਕਰ ਇਹੀ ਪੋਸਟਰ 9/11 ਦਾ ਵਾਕਿਆ ਵਾਪਰਨ ਸਮੇਂ ਜਾਰੀ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਜਾਂਦਾ ਤਾਂ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਚੰਗਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ । ਚਲੋ ਫਿਰ ਵੀ ਦੇਰ ਆਏ ਦਰੁਸਤ ਆਏ । ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਬੁਸ਼ ਵਲੋਂ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਦਿਤਾ ਗਿਆ, ਇਹ ਅਨਮੋਲ ਤੋਹਫਾ ਹੈ ।

I have been reading articles by Dalbir Singh with great interest and always wait for his write ups on 5abi.com. I think his recent article on this web site is probably written with good intentions but it is written in bad taste.

It is a good suggestion that the both Punjab’s should meet and the walls of hatred should fall but I am totally confused were the writer is saying that Sikh militants (he calls them terrorists) should have been demanding for joining the two Punjab’s in two different countries ??? Why would Sikh militants demand this from Indian government ???

The Khalistan movement did not started to demand merger of two Punjab’s but arose from the atrocities done by Indian government and I don't think I need to mention those incidents here. Dalbir Singh, being a well known and reputated news reporter should know the simple facts of Sikh struggle and know better on political structure of South Asia (Pakistan and India are two separate countries)

Yes, there were lot of anti-social elements involved in Sikh struggle but at the same time hundreds were involved to fight for their rights and specially for their human rights which were torn apart by Indian forces, I am sure Mr. Dalbir Singh is aware of this.

In my opinion this article does not make much sense and I am surprised to see that Mr. Singh would write such a clueless write up, and I hope Dalbir Singh would write more intelligent articles as he have done in past.

I was dismayed to read Mr. Lohara’s letter regarding Gandhi’s portrait on Indian currency.

“the woes of Mahatmas are known only to Mahatmas” M.K. Gandhi.

Gandhi (with or without the title of Mahatma) never liked the word Mahatma associated with his name. He preferred the word Bhai. I have no doubt if Gandhi were alive today he would not have liked his portrait on any currency. It is out of respect that we try to remember him. I have a feeling Mr. Lohara has not read Gandhi’s writings. He was larger than life when alive and a giant of a man in death as well. Not only was he the chief architect of Indian freedom, but his philosophy influenced Martin Luther King and Nelson Mandela, ardent followers of Gandhi. It seems his philosophy is becoming more relevant with the passage of time.

India would have been free today, with out without Gandhi. But I am sure if we have resorted to violent means to evict the British out of India we would not have been on friendly terms with the British today and it may have cost us more in terms of men and money to win that freedom. It is so hard to win the respect of your opponents, yet Lord Mountbatten compared Gandhi to Buddha and Christ. Sacrificing life for a cause is easy. We see hundreds die every week in Iraq and Palestine. Violence hardens the recipient and the perpetrator. After wasting fifty years and losing tens of thousands of men PLO last week decided it is time to lay down the weapons, end the vicious cycle of violence and try to win their freedom by non-violent means. Gandhi must be smiling in his grave!

I really like your article about the relationship between Indian and Pakistan that was published on 5abi web site. I am totally agreed that BJP’s wrong policies did nothing for our country. It only creates more tension and anger between both countries. Both countries do not need nuclear weapons, neither have they needed another war. All they need at this moment is peaceful and healthy talks. That’s how we can improve our relationship with each other.

I am (was) a strong supporter of you and CPM when I was in India. I am from your neighbor village Rurka Kalan. Now I live in Canada. As a neighbor and as a Punjabi, I wish you good health, and good luck in coming New Year.

ਲਾਲੂ ਜੀ ਦੇ ਵਿਵੇਕ ਵਾਰੇ ਅਗਰ ਦੁਨੀਆਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਘੱਟੋ ਘੱਟ ਸਾਰੇ ਭਾਰਤੀ ਤਾਂ ਚੰਗੀ ਤਰ੍ਹਾਂ ਜਾਣੂ ਹਨ। ਲਾਲੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਵਿਵੇਕ ਅਤੇ ਸਾਰਾ ਭਾਰਤ ਵਰਸ਼ ਬਸ ਹੋ ਗਿਆ ਕਲਿਆਨ। ਇਹ ਵੀ ਖ਼ਬਰ ਆਈ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਪੀੜਤਾਂ ਦੀ ਮਦਦ ਲਈ ਆ ਰਹੀ ਰੇਲ ਨੂੰ ਕਈ ਘੰਟੇ ਰੋਕ ਰੱਖਿਆ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਜੀ ਆ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਪਿੰਡ ਦੇ ਕਿਸਾਨਾ ਨੇ ਆਕੇ ਘਟਨਾ-ਸਥਾਨ ਤੇ ਪੂਰੀ ਮਦਦ ਕੀਤੀ। ਆਰੇ, ਰੱਸੀਆਂ, ਹੋਰ ਔਜਾਰ ਅਪਨੇ ਆਪ ਲੈਕੇ ਵਕਤ ਖ਼ਰਾਬ ਕੀਤੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਦੁਖ ਵਿਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਹਾਇਤਾ ਕੀਤੀ। ਸਭ ਸੇਵਾਦਾਰਾਂ ਲਈ ਗਰਮ ਗਰਮ ਚਾਹ ਅਤੇ ਧੂਈਆਂ ਬਾਲ ਕੇ ਗੱਡੀ ਦੀ ਲੀਹ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਨਾਲ ਲੰਗਰ ਦਾ ਬੰਦੋਵਸਤ ਵੀ ਕੀਤਾ। ਸਾਨੂੰ ਮਾਨ ਹੈ ਅਪਣੇ ਵਿਰਸੇ ਅਤੇ ਅਪਣੀ ਧਰਤੀ ਦੇ ਸਪੂਤਾਂ ਅਤੇ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੀਆਂ ਕੁਰਵਾਨੀਆਂ ਉਤੇ।

ਉਦਰ ਦਿਲੀ ਵਿਚ ਅਟਲ ਬਿਹਾਰੀ ਐਂਡ ਕੰਪਨੀ ਦਾ ਵੀ ਲਾਲੂ ਦੇ ਬਿਨਾ ਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਲੱਗਿਆਂ। ਉਨਾਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਤਾਂ ਬਾਈਕਾਟ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ ਕਿ ਲਾਲੂ ਨੂੰ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕਰੋ । ਹੌਲੀ ਹੌਲੀ ਦਸ ਦਸ ਮਿੰਟ ਸਭਾ ਨੂੰ ਲੇਟ ਕਰ  ਆਖਿਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਰਖ਼ਾਸਤ ਕਰ ਦਿਤਾ।

ਵੈਸੇ ਵੀ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਸ਼ਰੀਰ ਬੇਕਾਰ ਜਿਹੇ ਹਨ। ਗੋਗੜਾਂ ਭਾਰੀ, ਘੁਟਨੇ ਪਰਾਰੇ ਜਾਂ ਕਬਜੇ ਜੰਗ ਦੇ ਖਾਧੇ ਹੋਏ। ਚਾਰੇ ਖਾਂਦੇ ਖਾਦੇ ਪਾਰਲੀਮੈਂਟ 'ਚ ਆ ਘੁਸਦੇ ਹਨ। ਚਪੜਾਸੀ ਵੀ ਵੇਚਾਰੇ ਕੀ ਕਰਨ। ਉਹ ਹੱਥ ਨੱਕ ਤੇ ਤਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ਰੱਖ ਸਕਦੇ ਪਰੰਤੂ ਸਲੂਟ ਮਾਰਦੇ ਰਹਿਦੇਂ ਹਨ। ਬੂ ਜੋ ਆਉਂਦੀ ਹੈ। ਮੋਕ ਛੁਪਾਈ ਫਿਰਦੇ ਹਨ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਵੱਡੀਆਂ ਧੋਤੀਆਂ ਦੇ ਬਲਾਂ ਵਿਚ। ਚੰਦਨ ਦੇ ਟਿਕੇ ਭਲਾਂ ਢਕ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ ਬਦਬੂ ਨੂੰ। ਵੈਸੇ ਵੀ ਪਾਰਲੀਮੈਟ ਵਿਚ ਇਹਨਾਂ ਨੇ ਕੀ ਚਰਖਾ ਕੱਤਨਾ ਸੀ?

ਯਾਦ ਰਹੇ ਯੁੰਗ ਅਤੇ ਸਿੰਗਮਡ ਫ਼ਰਾਇਡ ਦੋ ਵੀਸਵੀਂ ਸਦੀ ਦੇ ਉੱਘੇ ਮਨੋਵਿਗਿਅਨਕ ਹੋਏ ਹਨ ਜਿਨਾਂ ਦੇ ਮਨ ਸਬੰਧੀ ਸਿਧਾਂਤਾਂ ਨੇ ਅਧੁਨਿਕ ਸੋਚ ਅਤੇ ਇਨਸਾਨ ਦੀ ਸੂਝਬੂਝ ਅਤੇ ਉਸਦੇ ਅੰਦਰ-ਛੁਪੇ ਮਾਨਸਕ ਰਸਾਖਿਚੀ ਦਾ ਮਹਾਭਾਰਤ ਅਦਿ ਵਿਸ਼ਿਆਂ ਤੇ ਬਹੁਤ ਰੋਸ਼ਨੀ ਪਾਈ ਹੈ। ਅਗੱਸਤ ਵਿੱਚ ਹਾਸਰਸ ਦੇ ਕਵੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਸਰਮਾਜੀ ਵੈਸਟ ਬਲੂਮਫੀਲਡ(ਮਿਸ਼ੀਗਨ) ਕਵਿਤਾ ਪਾਠ ਲਈ ਪਧਾਰੇ। ਲਾਲੂ ਜੀ ਉਪਰ ਕਵਿਤਾ ਲਿਖਣਾ ਕੋਈ ਖ਼ਾਲਾ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਬਾੜਾ ਹੈ? ਸਰਮਾ ਜੀ ਅਪਣੇ ਆਪ ਨੂੰ ਸ਼ਰਮਾ ਜੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬਲਕਿ ਸਰਮਾ ਜੀ ਬੋਲਦੇ ਹਨ। 'ਮੈਂ ਨਿਊਂ ਬੋਲਿਓਂ' ਆਪ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਵਿਸ਼ੇਸ਼ ਕਥਨ ਹੈ। ਲਾਲੂ ਉਪਰ ਇਹ ਮਜ਼ਾਕ ਸਰਮਾ ਜੀ ਨੇ ਪੇਸ਼ ਕੀਤਾ।

ਲਾਲੂ ਜੀ ਅਮਰੀਕਾ ਦੀ ਯਾਤਰਾ ਲਈ ਤਿਆਰੀ ਕਰ ਰਹੇ ਸਨ। ਜੋ ਆਦਮੀ ਹਿੰਦੀ ਵੀ ਸਹੀ ਨਹੀਂ ਬੋਲ ਸਕਦਾ ਅੰਗ੍ਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਸਿਖਨਾ ਕੋਈ ਅਸਾਨ ਕੰਮ ਨਹੀਂ ਹੈ। ਦੱਸਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਕਿ ਨਿਊ ਯਾਰਕ ਵਿਚ ਸ੍ਰੀਮਤੀ ਕਲਿੰਟਨ ਸੈਨੇਟਰ ਦੀ ਹੈਸੀਅਤ ਵਿਚ ਮੰਤਰੀ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਨ ਲਈ ਪਧਾਰਨ ਗੇ। ਲਾਲੂ ਜੀ ਇਹ ਡਾਇਆਲਾਗ ਰਟ ਲੈਣ।

ਹਉ ਆਰ ਯੂ? ਆਈ ਅਮ ਲਾਲੂ ਯਾਦਾਵ। ਨਾਇਸ ਟੂ ਮੀਟ ਵਿਧ ਯੂ। ਮੀਂ ਟੂ। ਥੈਂਕ ਯੂ।

ਲਾਲੂ ਜੀ ਸਿਆਤ ਵਿਚ ਪਰਵੀਨ ਤਾਂ ਹਨ। ਉਹ ਅੱਗੇ ਦੀ ਸੋਚਦੇ ਹਨ। ਇਹ ਸੋਚ ਕੇ ਬਿਲ ਕਲਿੰਟਨ ਦੀ ਘਰ ਵਾਲੀ ਅਗਲੀ ਰਾਸ਼ਟਰਪਤੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ ਅੰਗਰੇਜ਼ੀ ਤਾਂ ਕੀ ਉਹ ਚੀਨੀ ਭਾਸ਼ਾ ਵੀ ਸਿਖ ਸਕਦੇ ਹਨ। 15 ਦਿਨ ਵਿਚ ਸਭ ਸ਼ਬਦ ਰਟ ਗਏ। ਹਵਾਈ ਜਹਾਜ ਵਿਚ ਹਿਲਰੀ ਕਲਿੰਟਨ ਨਾਲ ਗਲਬਾਤ ਦਾ ਅਪਨਾ ਹੀ ਚਾ ਸੀ। ਸਮੱਸਿਆ ਇਹ ਆਈ ਕਿ ਹਿਲਰੀ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਸ਼੍ਰੀ ਬਿਲ ਕਲਿੰਟਨ ਵੀ ਆ ਗਏ। ਹਿਲਰੀ ਔਰਤਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਨ ਲਗ ਗਈ ਅਤੇ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਬਿਲ ਕਲਿੰਟਨ ਲਾਲੂ ਜੀ ਦਾ ਆਉਭਗਤ ਕਰਨ ਲਈ ਅੱਗੇ ਵਧੇ।

ਇਸ ਸੱਚ ਦੀ ਅਨੂਭੂਤੀ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਕਲਿੰਟਨ ਜੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਰਾਉਣ ਲਈ ਸ੍ਰੀ ਲਾਲੂ ਜੀ ਯਾਦਵ ਜਿਹੀ ਮਹਾਨ ਹਸਤੀ ਦੀ ਲੋੜ ਹੁੰਦੀ ਹੈ। ਸੋ ਆਈ ਲਵ ਮਾਈ ਇੰਡੀਆ।

I have lot of respect for H. K. Surjit but I do not agree with his one sided approach re Mr. Arafat. I will not advocate on behalf of Israel or Palstinian people. But the truth of the matter is that this conflict has gone on for too long. As a result, so many innocent people have died or suffered emotionally, physically, and financially. Mr. Arafat sacrificed his life when he could have lived a happy, comfortable life.

But, during his leadership so many people suffered. A leader must be visionary and charismatic. Mr. Arafat failed to win peace for his people and failed to win statehood for his nation. Furthermore, he let so many opportunities for peace slip away and increased the sufferings for so many innocent people on both sides of the conflict. His own people have a better chance for peace now that he has passed away. He became a road block to so many opportunities that would have given Palestinian people their homeland and chance for prosperity. I pray to God to help the people of Palestine and Israel come together peacefully so that the sufferings of people on both side of the conflict can be minimized. For Mr. Surjit, if Mr. Arafat had alliance with communists in India, it should not mean that we should ignore his weaknesses as a leader. Thank you.

Dear Sir,

Regarding Mr.Baldeb Singh Lohara's letter in connection to RBI's issuing of indian currency bills with Gandhi's picture on them is out of focus. We should keep our personal likes or dislikes personal such as whether to call Gandhi Mahatama or not. By the way Rabindernath Tagore gave him this title. Both Tagore and Gandhi represent India better in the whole world than any other person. Secondly Time magazine declared Gandhi second only to Einstein as the choice of Time readers from the entire world.This was done in January 2001 to announce the MAN OF THE CENTURY.

New York Times also named Gandhi and Einstein as the two human beings who have influenced maximum intellectually and spiritually. After the Roundtable Coference with the British Rulers Gandhi visited a big departmental store and while leaving he thanked the owner of the store for putting such an expensive and big store.The manager asked Gandhi, "Sir, did you like anything ?"Gandhi replied, "I liked every thing you have. But I am happy that i can live without buying such things."

Gandhi was clad in dhoti and a warm shawl.The movie Gandhi made the whole world know India better than ever. Many people thought that India is a country of snake charmers. Baldevji, let us worry about other issues like duplicate currency and corruption of our Lalus and religious thekedars who are looting us and we still spread a red carpet to welcome them.GANDHI needs no other introduction such as Mahatama or Bapu. Nor does Tagore.Tagore's Nobel medal was also stolen from lock & key. The Nobel Society just presented a new Nobel Medal minted for the first time as a second copy of the original. Let us all feel honoured to name a few people who were free from personal gain, corruption, and greed. Tagore and Gandhi come to my mind spontaneously.

ਇਸ ਲੇਖ ਵਿਚ ਲੇਖਕ ਨੇ '84 ਦੀ ਹੱਡਬੀਤੀ ਬਿਆਨ ਕੀਤੀ ਹੈ, ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਇੰਦਰਾ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਤੇ ਅਗਲੇ ਦਿਨ ਸਿੱਖਾਂ ਦੀ ਮੌਤ ਦੀ ਗਮੀ ਬਾਰੇ ਬੜੇ ਭਾਵੁਕ ਲਹਿਜੇ ਨਾਲ ਲਿਖਿਆ ਗਿਆ ਹੈ ।

"ਇੱਕ ਬੜਾ ਦਰਖਤ ਗਿਰਨੇ ਵਾਲੀ " ਗਲ ਕਰਨੀ ਕਿਸੇ ਕਮੀਨੇ ਮਨ ਦੀ ਕਾਢ ਹੀ ਹੋ ਸਕਦੀ ਹੈ । ਕੀ ਇੰਦਰਾ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਦੀ ਅਹਿਮੀਅਤ ਮਹਾਤਮਾ ਗਾਂਧੀ ਤੋਂ ਜਿਆਦਾ ਸੀ ? ਹਿੰਦੂ ਕਾਤਲ ਨੂੰ ਸਜਾ ਦੇਣ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਚੁੱਪ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਕਾਤਲ ਦੀ ਸਜਾ ਲਈ ਸਾਰੀ ਕੌਮ ਜੁਮੇਂਵਾਰ ! ਹੈ ਨਾ ਬਘਿਆੜ - ਲੇਲੇ ਵਾਲੀ ਕਹਾਣੀ , ਜਿਸ ਵਿਚ ਲੇਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਲਈ ਕੋਈ ਵੀ ਬਹਾਨਾ ਘੜਿਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ ਹੈ ! ਇਸ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੁਝ ਲਈ ਆਮ ਨਾਗਰਿਕ ਨੂੰ ਜੁਮੇਂਵਾਰ ਨਹੀਂ ਠਹਿਰਾਇਆ ਜਾ ਸਕਦਾ । ਇਸ ਕਾਰੇ ਦੇ ਜੁਮੇਂਵਾਰ ਹਨ, ਉਹ ਲੀਡਰ, ਨੇਤਾ ਜੋ ਕਿਸੇ ਵੀ ਧਰਮ ਨਾਲ ਸਬੰਧਿਤ ਹੋਣ, ਪਰ ਆਪਣੀ ਗੱਦੀ ਕਾਇਮ ਰੱਖਣ ਲਈ ਧਰਮ ਦੇ ਨਾਂ ਤੇ ਖੂਨ ਦੀਆਂ ਨਦੀਆਂ ਵਹਾਉਣ ਤੋਂ ਵੀ ਬਾਜ ਨਹੀਂ ਆਉਂਦੇ । ਇਸ ਸਭ ਦੇ ਬਾਵਜੂਦ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਾਰੇ ਹਿੰਦੂ ਤੇ ਸਿੱਖ ਆਪਸੀ ਪ੍ਰੇਮ-ਪਿਆਰ ਨਾਲ ਰਹਿ ਰਹੇ ਹਨ ।

ਸੋ ਸਾਨੂੰ ਸਾਰਿਆਂ ਨੂੰ ਇੱਕ ਗੱਲ ਹਮੇਸ਼ਾ ਯਾਦ ਰਖਣੀ ਚਾਹੀਦੀ ਹੈ ਕਿ ਦੁਸ਼ਮਣ ਮਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਖੁਸ਼ੀ ਨਾ ਕਰੀਏ, ਸਜਣਾ ਵੀ ਮਰ ਜਾਣਾ !
